Teachers' Day is observed in Turkey every November 24, celebrating the contributions of educators in the country. This day has its origins in the reforms initiated by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk following the establishment of the Republic of Turkey. Notably, on November 24, 1928, National Schools were founded to teach the new Latin alphabet, which was part of Atatürk's efforts to improve literacy. Since 1981, the anniversary of these schools has been recognized as Teachers' Day. On this occasion, the President and Prime Minister of Turkey host a special reception at Çankaya Presidential Palace in Ankara, where teachers from all provinces gather to commemorate the day.
