Law Day

Recurrence pattern: every year on November 26.

National Law Day, also known as Samvidhan Divas, is celebrated in India on November 26 each year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. Although it is not a public holiday, government departments and schools across the country observe the day with various events and activities. Students read the preamble of the constitution in schools, and there are quiz and essay competitions both online and offline. Additionally, universities are encouraged to organize mock parliamentary debates. The day aims to raise awareness about the significance of the Constitution and Dr. B R Ambedkar, who is recognized as the chief architect of the Constitution. The Constitution of India establishes the country as a sovereign, secular, socialist, and democratic republic, ensuring justice, liberty, and equality for its citizens.
