Recurrence pattern: every year on November 30.
International Kickboxing Day is observed worldwide every November 30. This day commemorates the provisional recognition of kickboxing by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on November 30, 2018. Established by the World Association of Kickboxing Organizations (WAKO), the holiday aims to popularize the sport globally. Kickboxing, which combines elements of boxing and various martial arts, has its roots in the 1960s when the term was coined by Japanese boxing promoter Osamu Noguchi. To celebrate this day, WAKO members organize competitions and events in their respective countries. While WAKO is the leading governing body for amateur kickboxing, there is no single international governing body for the sport overall.
