Stomach Cancer Awareness Day

Recurrence pattern: every year on November 30.

Stomach Cancer Awareness Day is observed worldwide every November 30, marking the conclusion of Stomach Cancer Awareness Month. This day was initiated by My Gut Feeling, a Canadian support network that advocates for stomach cancer patients and their families. The first Stomach Cancer Awareness Day took place in Canada in 2016, featuring the social media campaign #MGF365. Since then, numerous cities across Canada, the United States, and other countries, including Australia, Italy, and Japan, have participated by illuminating landmarks in periwinkle blue, the awareness color for gastric cancer. Activities on this day include encouraging local administrations to join the campaign, wearing periwinkle ribbons, donating to relevant organizations, and sharing personal stories to inspire others. In 2023, over 150 sites worldwide, including the Leaning Tower of Pisa, were lit up in recognition of this important cause.
