October 15: Idic15 Awareness Day

Idic15 Awareness Day is observed in Canada every October 15. This day was initiated by Idic15 Canada to increase public awareness of Chromosome 15q11.2-13.1 Duplication Syndrome, also known as Dup15q, which is a genetic cause of autism resulting from the duplication or partial duplication of chromosome 15. The organization aims to highlight the needs of families affected by this condition and to promote research related to it. Idic15 Canada supports individuals and their families by providing information and connecting them with professionals. Additionally, the organization collaborates internationally with specific clinics to further assist those impacted by Dup15q.
