Brain Cancer Awareness Day is observed in Canada every October 24, having been inaugurated in 2018 by the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada (BTFC). The day aims to highlight the challenges in brain cancer treatment and promote increased research into brain tumors. It is estimated that over 7,000 Canadians are diagnosed with a brain tumor each year, with more than a third being malignant. Participants can engage in various activities such as fundraising for brain cancer patients, donating to organizations supporting research, and supporting the BTFC’s Hats for Hope campaign by purchasing and wearing themed apparel. The campaign emphasizes the need for awareness about the different types of brain cancer and the importance of early intervention, as symptoms can be non-specific and often manifest late.
