World Day for Audiovisual Heritage is observed worldwide every October 27. This holiday was initiated by UNESCO in 2005 to highlight the significance and preservation risks of recorded audiovisual and sound documents. The day focuses on the importance of films, radio and TV programs, and audio and video records, which serve as primary information carriers of the 20th and 21st centuries. Unfortunately, much of this audiovisual heritage is in danger, particularly in developing countries, due to its inherent vulnerabilities. Professionals are actively engaged in efforts to preserve this heritage for future generations. The celebration aims to attract attention to the unique local, national, and international aspects of audiovisual heritage.
