Parafluid

LGBTQ-alphabet

Parafluid refers to individuals whose gender identity shifts between multiple identities within the paragender spectrum. Paragender describes people who feel a partial connection to certain genders but do not fully identify with any of them. When combined with fluidity, this means that their gender identity fluctuates between these partially-connected identities, creating a fluid experience of gender that never fully settles on one specific identity.

Imagine someone who feels connected to different genders but only partially aligns with them. One day, they might feel a strong connection to a non-binary identity, but they never fully identify with it. The next day, they might feel a connection to a feminine identity, but again, it’s only a partial alignment. Being parafluid means that their gender shifts between these partially-connected identities, always hovering near them but never fully settling into one. It’s like having several favorite songs but never committing to just one as their absolute favorite; they enjoy each one in different ways but never feel completely attached to any of them. Their gender moves fluidly between these partial connections, giving them a sense of flexibility and exploration without the need to fully commit to one specific gender identity. This fluidity allows them to experience different aspects of gender while maintaining a sense of partial attachment, making their gender identity a constantly evolving and dynamic experience.
