Carnival Monday is observed in Grenada every second Monday of August as part of the widely known Spicemas, Grenada’s Carnival. This public holiday features various events and activities, with offices and businesses closed to celebrate. The festivities include J’ouvert, a large street party with dance and singing contests that begins before dawn and peaks after sunrise. Another highlight is the Bomb tune competition, a music contest among steel bands, followed by a Pageant. The peak of Carnival Monday culminates in the vibrant Monday Night Mas parade, where bands march through the streets, showcasing the lively spirit of the celebration.
