Corpus Christi, also known as the Feast of Corpus Domini, is celebrated worldwide on the Thursday after Trinity Sunday, which occurs sixty days after Easter. This Latin Catholic movable feast honors the belief in the body and blood of Jesus Christ and his Real Presence in the Eucharist. It is included in the liturgical calendar of the Latin Catholic Church and some Anglican and Western Rite Orthodox churches, while certain Lutheran congregations still observe it. Celebrations often feature festive processions and local folk traditions; for instance, in Catalonia, the "dancing egg" tradition involves an emptied egg placed over a water jet from a fountain, decorated with fresh fruits and flowers. In the Spanish village of Castrillo de Murcia, a unique practice known as baby jumping occurs, where men dressed as the Devil jump over babies laid on mattresses in the street. This feast is recognized as a public holiday in several countries, including Spain, Switzerland, and Trinidad and Tobago.
