Bukovina Day (Romania)

Recurrence pattern: every year in March.

Bukovina Day (Ziua Bucovinei) is observed in Romania every November 28 to commemorate the union of Bukovina with Romania. This historical region, now divided between Romania and Ukraine, has a rich history that includes being part of the Moldavian state in the mid-14th century and later the Austrian Empire from 1774 until 1918. The celebration, officially recognized since 2015, primarily takes place in Suceava County, where local authorities organize commemorative events in cities such as Câmpulung Moldovenesc, Putna, Rădăuți, Suceava, and Vatra Dornei. Ethnic Romanians in Chernivtsi Oblast of Ukraine also participate in the observance, attending events organized by the Romanian embassy and cultural centers. The day serves to honor the region's cultural heritage and historical significance.
