What is soursop or guanabana?

Een zuurzak, guanabana, graviola of prikkelappel (Annona Muricata) is een vrucht met een donkergroene schil met stekels. Zuurzak komt vooral uit de Centraal Amerika, het Caraibisch gebied en Mauritius.

De vrucht is maar liefst 20 tot 35 centimeter groot en 2,5 tot 6 kg zwaar. De vrucht bevat veel zaden. Het vruchtvlees van zuurzak is wit, zacht, vezelig, sappig en pulpachtig en de smaak is zoetzuur.
