Canadian Forces Day is observed in Canada every first Sunday of June to celebrate the Canadian Armed Forces, their heritage, and personnel. Although it is not a public holiday, the day is marked with various events and activities across the country, including official speeches, solemn ceremonies, and opportunities for citizens to express gratitude and appreciation for the contributions of active personnel, reserve personnel, and veterans. Established to honor all members of the Armed Forces, Canadian Forces Day recognizes the valor, bravery, dedication, and commitment of those who serve. The Canadian Armed Forces, which includes the Royal Canadian Navy, Canadian Army, and Royal Canadian Air Force, comprises approximately 199,000 personnel. The current structure of the Canadian Forces was established in 1968 through the Canadian Forces Reorganization Act.
