Publishing, Printing and Book Distribution Workers' Day is observed in Ukraine on the last Saturday in May. This professional holiday was established in 1999 by President Leonid Kuchma to recognize the significant contributions of employees in the publishing and printing sectors to the nation's educational, cultural, and scientific development. It honors those whose work is directly or indirectly related to publishing, printing, and book distribution. The holiday commemorates the legacy of Ivan Fedorov, regarded as the first printer in Ukraine, who established a printing house in Lviv and published the liturgical book "Acts and Epistles of the Apostles" in 1574. Today, nearly 6,000 companies in Ukraine employ around 40,000 people in these fields, who celebrate their professional achievements on this day.
