Mobile Brigade Day is observed in Indonesia every November 14, celebrating the Mobile Brigade Corps (BRIMOB), a special police operation force and paramilitary law enforcement unit. The day commemorates the reorganization of the Special Police Troops into the Mobile Brigade on November 14, 1946. The Mobile Brigade is responsible for various critical tasks, including counter-terrorism, police raids, riot control, bomb disposal, and search and rescue operations. Its origins trace back to 1945, when it was formed to disarm remnants of the Japanese Imperial Army and protect the head of state. Over the years, the Mobile Brigade has been involved in significant conflicts, including the Indonesian-Malaysian confrontation and the Indonesian invasion of East Timor. By the late 1970s, it became part of the Indonesian National Police, continuing to address organized crime and mass riots.
