Recurrence pattern: every year on November 27.
Aviation Day is observed in Venezuela every November 27 to commemorate the coup attempt made by aviation officers in 1992 against President Carlos Andrés Pérez. This day marks the second of two coup attempts that year, with the first occurring on February 4. The November coup involved officers from the Venezuelan air force and navy who took control of state-run TV station Venezolana de Televisión to broadcast a message from imprisoned leader Hugo Chávez, calling for an uprising. Despite their efforts, the coup was suppressed on the same day by the government. To celebrate Aviation Day, an annual air show is organized, which begins with the singing of the national anthem and the raising of the national flag.
