Children's Day is observed in Guatemala and El Salvador every October 1, known locally as Día del niño. This holiday is celebrated with various events and activities organized by governmental and non-governmental institutions, where children eagerly participate in special concerts at schools. A traditional activity during this day is breaking piñatas filled with candies and toys, which takes place in schools, parks, and community centers across the countries. Children also engage in games, enjoy sweets and cakes, and exchange small gifts and candies. Additionally, clown performances are sometimes held to entertain the children. Given that many children in these countries face challenging living conditions, this celebration provides a joyful respite, and numerous national and international organizations focused on children's rights conduct charity events on this day.
