Fiano Day is celebrated worldwide on every third Friday of October to honor the Fiano grape variety, which is native to southern Italy but also widely grown in Australia. The holiday was launched in 2025 by Oliver’s Taranga, a family-owned vineyard in McLaren Vale, Australia, and is associated with winemaker Corrina Wright, known for her expertise in Fiano wines. Fiano is recognized for its intense aromas and robust flavors, often featuring notes of pear, apple, honey, and nuts, and pairs well with seafood, white meats, and Mediterranean dishes. To celebrate, people are encouraged to buy a bottle of Fiano to share with loved ones, attend wine tastings, vineyard tours, or food pairing classes, and promote the holiday on social media using the hashtag #FianoDay.
