The Kabakahan Festival is observed in Padre Garcia, a municipality in the Philippine province of Batangas, every December 1. This festival was created to boost tourism and highlight the town's primary source of income, which is cattle and cattle trade. Padre Garcia, named after the Filipino priest Padre Vicente García, became an independent municipality in 1949 and established a cattle market in 1952, which has since become the largest auction market in Southern Tagalog, earning it the title “Cattle Trading Capital of the Philippines.” The festival features various activities, including street dancing, a dance contest, an agricultural and food fair, a cooking competition, a talent show, and the Kabakahan Festival Queen pageant. A notable highlight is the Rodeo Ala Garciano, where teams from Batangas and other provinces compete in events such as calf lassoing and cattle wrestling. The day is recognized as a special non-working holiday in the municipality.
