Take a Girl Child to Work Day is observed in South Africa every last Thursday of May. The campaign, organized by Cell C in collaboration with the South African Department of Education, aims to address gender inequality and empower young girls by exposing them to various workplaces. Each year, the initiative focuses on a specific theme that highlights contemporary societal issues. Companies can formally partner with Cell C to host a minimum of 20 girls, providing transportation, workshops, and promotional materials. Employees from companies that do not host a school are encouraged to take their female relatives to work. This initiative seeks to inspire girls to reach their full potential by showcasing professional environments and encouraging early career aspirations.
