Charity Day in Ukraine is observed every second Sunday of December. It was officially introduced by President Viktor Yushchenko in December 2007 to encourage the efforts of non-governmental organizations and to foster charitable activities across the country. This day honors everyone involved in charity work and emphasizes the values of generosity and compassion. Although it is not a public holiday, most people have the day off since it falls on a Sunday. On Charity Day, Ukrainians are encouraged to explore and support various charitable groups, including Heart to Heart, Light of Hope, and the Klitschko Foundation. The importance of giving has grown especially during the War in Donbass, with many volunteering or donating to aid soldiers. Even small contributions are recognized for their positive impact on people’s lives.
